The group exists since 2000 and is basically formed by the Buts family. The ensemble performs both instrumental and vocal music pieces. Its repertoire includes traditional wedding tunes, support to dances, lyric songs, comic songs, ballads, and also winter ritual songs. The group's aim is to investigate and preserve traditional Ukrainian music. The eight members have already gone out into ethnographic expeditions for eleven years, collecting music records all over the countryside. The music is played with maximal correspondence to the original. The ensemble's motto is Thinking like folk musicians. Buttia is the participant of festivals such as Kraina Mriy (2004 - 2008), Sheshory (2005, 2007), Skamba Skamba Kankliai (2005), Viljandi (2005), Mykolajki Folkowe (2007). The ensemble plays at folk parties, weddings, holidays, and organizes folk dance classes. Read more on Last.fm.
