HaYehudim (literally: The Jews; see official site) are a current day Israeli hard-rock band. Utilising powerful chord progressions and soaring vocals, HaYehudim have captured the hearts and minds of a generation of young Israelis. Singing almost entirely in Hebrew, fast upbeat songs are coupled with heart-wrenching ballads to thrill and captivate young audiences across Israel in stunningly powerful live shows. The band's most famous members are Orit Shachaf and Tom Petrover who are also the lead singers and guitarists. Orit Shchaf's characteristic deep and powerful voice are a symbol of the HaYehudim's musical style. Tom and Orit, a married couple, have met during military service in the military band. The song Lo Kal (not easy) has become an iconic Israeli song throughout the diaspora. Many of their songs are charged with political and ideological flavour, but there's a lot of room for interpretation as no song of theirs is clearly political in nature. The most political song is Ke'ilu (=As if). This song speaks about the situation of the jewish nation in israel. Read more on Last.fm.
