MATHILDA (マチルダ) is a visual kei band based in Tokyo, active since 2018. The band consists of Qu (喰) from DEVIZE, alongside guitarist Ichigo JAM (一檎ジャム), from ramiel (ラミエル), and Ikura Uni (ヰ瞑うに) from ALCYON. Shigure Tamaki (時雨 環) from ramiel (ラミエル) plays bass, while Yoneda Mai (米田米), also from DEVIZE, handles drums. The band's former guitarist, Asahina SORA (朝比奈 ソラ), departed in 2018 due to personal reasons. MATHILDA formed in March 2018, and their debut single HAJIMEMASHITE, KoroSHI NI MaiRIMASHITA。 (ハジメマシテ、殺シニ参リマシタ。) was released following the reveal of their band image and teaser later that same month. They quickly became active in the live scene, performing at various venues such as Ikebukuro Black Hole and Shinjuku SAMURAI. Following SORA's departure in September 2018, the band offered several free one-man shows in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, helping them build a loyal following. In November 2019, MATHILDA released their mini-album titled Shoujo A (※17 Sai) (少女A(※17才)), which included seven tracks. To promote the release, they embarked on a free one-man tour titled Shoujo Yūkai (少女誘拐), which kicked off in November 2019. The tour culminated in January 2020 with performances in cities including Nagoya and Sapporo. In 2020, they also embarked on a two-man tour with Undeux, which culminated in a final performance at Sapporo CRAZY MONKEY. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, MATHILDA continued their activities, holding a free one-man live at Shinjuku BLAZE in September 2020. MATHILDA started March 2021 with a twoman vs SHIVA at Shinjuku HEAD POWER, and later in March the band celebrated its third anniversary with a special one-man live performance at Shibuya ON AIR WEST. In 2023, MATHILDA announced the release of their latest EP, titled #MATHILDA, featuring five tracks, continuing their growth in the visual kei scene. Read more on Last.fm.
