メロキュア (MELOCURE) was a duo composed of Ritsuko Okazaki (岡崎律子) and Megumi Hinata (日向めぐみ). Formed in 2002, the duo released several singles and in 2003, released their first album entitled melodic hard cure in 2004. This album contained several songs used as anime themes including Itoshii Kakera, Meguriai (UFO Princess Valkyrie), 1st Priority, and Himawari (Stratos 4). On May 5, 2004, Ritsuko suddenly passed away of septic shock (infection of the blood), effectively disbanding the group. However in late 2005, MELOCURE released one more single called HOME & AWAY. The song was used as the anime Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo's opening theme song. Megumi still continues in her music career as a solo artist, meg rock and she officially announced to the fans that she also continues to be the member of メロキュア (MELOCURE) all her life.
