Maruyama Ryuhei (丸山隆平), born November 26, 1983), is a member of the popular Japanese boyband Kanjani8, part of Johnny's Entertainment. He is the bassist of Kanjani8 and SUBARU BAND. Ryuhei, commonly known as Maru, was born to a family of two bodybuilders in Kyoto, Japan. At age 13, his father sent in an application for him to JE, which earned him an audition, and in turn gave him a position in Johnny's Entertainment. Before the formation of Kanjani8, Maru was active as a memeber of the band V.WEST. After the debut of Kanjani8, the group's popularity grew, and Maru is widely known as the basist and funny man of the group.
