In the last ten years Beijing's modern music scene has been heavily influenced by louder genres such as punk and metal, but a growing number of bands are taking to a poppy, electronic style. One of the bands promoting a less chaotic and more melodic style of music is the curiously named Carrchy (卡奇社). Carrchy is made up of singer/songwriter Keli (颗粒) and producer Fly (于鸿飞), both natives of Qingdao, Shandong province who have been based in Beijing for the past several years. Since forming in 2005 they have released one full-length album, Ri Guang Qing Cheng (日光倾城), which came out in 2007. A concert DVD, Xing Zou De Mi Yue Live (行走的蜜月live), was released in 2008, along with the two track Mao Mi EP (猫咪 EP). Read more on Last.fm.
