時速36km (Jisoku 36 km, also known as 36 km/h) is a Japanese alternative rock/emo band from Ekoda/Nerima/Tokyo formed in 2016. Members: Vocals & Guitar: 仲川慎之介 (Shinnosuke Nakagawa) Guitar & Chorus: 石井ウィル開 (Ishii Will Kai, since April 2018) Bass & Throat: オギノテツ (Tetsu Ogino) Drums & Chorus: 松本ヒデアキ (Hideaki Matsumoto) History: The band was named by Matsumoto and was formed on December 1, 2016, within a university club at Musashino University. On July 3, 2017, they began distributing their first demo “Yume wo Miteiru / Omoide wa Itsuka Sabishisa ni Baketemo” (2 tracks). Their first EP, “Driving Force” (Doraibingu Fōsu), followed on December 8 the same year. In 2018, 36km/h released their first digital-only single “Shichigatsu Nanaka Dori” (2 tracks) on July 8. A month later, on August 12, they held their first self-produced event, “Punch Drunker,” at Shimokitazawa Daisy Bar, marking the start of the “Tenjo Tenka Tenchi Musoutou Tour.” More independent events followed: “Blue as Close to Nibiiro” on October 28, “Final Explosion” on November 24 at Kyoto nano, and “Isshounen Jump for Life” on December 15, again at Daisy Bar. Their first mini-album, “Mada Ore ni Naru Mae no Ore ni.” (To the Me Before I Became Me) was released on November 7. On January 13, 2019, the band held its first solo live show, “Kenkou,” in the basement studio of Musashino University Building 4, kicking off the “Hero Makeover Set Tour.” Later that year, on November 20, they released two EPs simultaneously: “Saitei no Zutto Temae no Hou de” and “15 Sai to Monku.” The year closed with the independent event “Emerald” on December 17 at TSUTAYA O-Crest. In 2020, they released a series of digital singles: “Yasashii Uta” (June 3), “Hello” (Harō) (July 7), and “Atomu” (August 28). On December 1, they issued the reboot mini-album “Doraibingu Fōsu Aratame.” The following year, on March 11, 2021, the digital single “Sateraito” was released, followed by their first full-length album “Kagayaki no Naka ni Tatteiru” on August 25 (15 tracks, TOUKA-013) In 2022, two more digital singles appeared: “Kagerou” (September 14) and “Stars” (December 7). Their second mini-album, “Kurushii Hodo Toumei na Hibi ni,” was released on September 20, 2023 (7 tracks, TOUKA-015).
