Shiro Sone (or 曾根史郎) (born March 1, 1930) is a Japanese singer. He is a permanent director of the Japan Singers Association. His representative songs include Young Policeman. 1947: Studied under composer Yoshi Eguchi. 1953: Selected as Prince Tokyo on Bunka Broadcasting's Tokyo Kayō Ressha and appeared for six months. 1954: Debuted as a singer with Yukinojō Henge no Uta from Polydor. 1955: Transferred to Victor Records. 1956: Wakaki Omawarisan became a historical hit. In the same year, made his first appearance on NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen with the same song. He has appeared on Kohaku Uta Gassen four consecutive times (see below for details). 2008: Received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 50th Japan Record Awards.
