Manami Kiyota (清田愛未, born April 3) is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She grew up at the base of Mt. Yatsugatake and started taking piano lessons at the age of 4. In junior high, she was a member of the brass band performing the trumpet, as well as performing the Japanese drum and studying classical vocal music in high school. After graduating from high school, she would go to study compositional technique and the synthesizer at university in Tokyo. It was here that she would form the unit YUENA in March 2002 along with a friend at university, performing often at various clubs and events in Tokyo. Manami Kiyota would go solo in June 2003, releasing her debut album 「月杜の祭」 and have her own radio program 「音のたまご」 on FM Kofu which ran from October 2003 to March 2004. In 2004, she would provide the vocals and lyrics for Final Fantasy Song Book Mahoroba, a vocal album of various songs from Final Fantasy III, V, VII, VIII and IX arranged by 長谷川友二. In 2006, she would appear on NHK 「みんなのうた」 performing 「千の花 千の空 」which was subsequently released on CD+DVD. in 2007, she would compose the soundtrack for the planetarium programme「星月夜~めぐる大地のうた」. She has two albums released on iTunes 「はじまりの大地」 in May 2008 followed by 「星空のカノン~プラネタリウムの為の音楽集」 in April 2009. In 2009, her radio program 「音のたまご」 would be revived in podcast form. Her played instruments are the Keyboard, Shinobue, Ocarina, Recorder and Pianika. Her favourite artists are Adiemus, Miriam Stockley, 植松伸夫, Richard Rodgers, Enigma and Deep Forest.
