Gain (hangeul: 가인, real name: Son Ga-in; 손가인, born on September 20, 1987) is a South Korean singer, actress and entertainer, best known as a member of the girl group Brown Eyed Girls, debuted in 2006. She made her solo debut in October 2010. Her music as a soloist incorporates many diverse genres, such as tango nuevo, latin and jazz. Gain released her debut mini album Step 2/4 on October 2010, with the title track 돌이킬 수 없는 (Irreversible). On December 21, 2010 the digital single Bad Temper was released. Gain was featured on Yoon Il-sang's 21st anniversary album with the song 너만은 모르길. In April 2012, she sung a duet song with J.Y. Park called Someone Else. The duet peaked at number 2 on the Gaon Weekly Singles chart. Gain's second mini album Talk About S. was released on October 5, 2012. With the title track being 피어나 (Bloom), compared to her debut title track, Irreversible, Bloom had a more brighter sound. The physical album had 4 more other tracks while the digital album included a track that featured Shinhwa's Eric Mun called 노스텔지아 (feat. 에릭). Gain collaborated with singer Cho Hyung-woo to make the mini album Romantic Spring, which was released on April 8, 2012. Later that month, on April 13, 2013 Gain was featured in PSY's music video for his song Gentleman. She also featured on IU's album Modern Times, on the track 누구나 비밀은 있다 (feat. 가인) (Everybody Has Secrets). Her third mini album Truth or Dare was released on February 6, 2014. The mini contained the title track 진실 혹은 대담 (Truth or Dare) as well as the single Fxxk U (feat. 범키), which dealt with themes about domestic violence. Gain's fourth mini album ḥawwāh was released on March 12 2015. Paradise Lost and Apple (feat. Jay Park) were the lead singles. Paradise Lost was inspired by John Milton's epic poem of the same name. Gain released the album End Again on September 8, 2016, with the lead single Carnival (The Last Day).
