808weeds (aka Samir Karaev) is a Synthwave producer from Yekaterinburg, Russia. 808weeds started his musical journey as a drummer in a metalcore band in 2008. He also became interested in creating electronic music (High-Tech Minimal). Since 2010 he completely switched to electronic music, trying many genres. Thus, he studied the details of different genres, drawing something interesting from them. (Drum and Bass, Brostep, Psychedelic Trance, Minimal Techno and other). In 2012, he became interested in beatmaking and live beatmaking, and created beats in the genre of Cloud, Trap, Phonk, Trill and more. 808weeds was a member of “Russian 808 Mafia” community which had many beatmakers in the genres of new school. It was then that he came up with the artist name '808weeds', which eventually remained to the present. In November 2020 releases his first synthwave single called Streetlights. In this style, he also experimented a lot with the sound of his music, he released in different sub-genres like outrun, dreamwave, cyberpunk, darksynth and other. His music is already being played on such popular YouTube channels as NewRetroWave, ThePrimeThanatos, Astral Throb, NightrideFM and others. Сurrently 808weeds is working on his first album with more powerful and heavy music tracks unlike his earlier singles. He has already released one single called Engram from the upcoming album.
