ASHMUS is a Studio act and DJ. The reincarnation of the band blue_notes_orchestra and Automatsch. Founded on spring 2016. ASHMUS has been crafting non-commercial music since 1999, embarking on their journey by sharing their electronic music productions on MySpace and TramaVirtual. Their early works were infused with minimalist elements, exploring the realms of Trip Hop, Dance, Electronica, and glitch. In 2016, ASHMUS embraced the vaporwave aesthetic, creating sample-heavy productions that utilized the 'turnablism' method, shunning DAWs in favor of collaging diverse samples. By 2019, they had begun employing this approach to produce more danceable electronic music, albeit with a minimalist flair and a self-coined genre called 'VaporDisco'.
