Ambrose
Ambrose can refer to either an English bandleader or a German emo band. 1. Benjamin Baruch Ambrose (15 September 1896 – 11 June 1971) was an English bandleader and violinist from the East End of London. He was almost universally known simply as Ambrose. He had extended residencies at the Embassy Club, the Mayfair Hotel and the Café de Paris. His orchestra was also notable as the place where Vera Lynn got her break as she was a regular with the band from 1937 to 1940. 2. Ambrose were a german emo band from Karlsruhe, consisting of band members: oliver: vocals, guitar matthias: guitar ralph: bass laurens: drums Label Page: Defiance Records 3. Ambrose was the short-lived musical collaboration between Michael Avishay (b. June 12 1989), now of Ghost Animal (https://root.theworkpc.com/music/preview?img=http://www.last.fm/music/Ghost+Animal), and Aleena Bissett (b. February 8 1990) while teenagers. Their name was taken from a character in the novel Fall On Your Knees. They never released a proper record but played various venues around the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and recorded a handful of cover songs of artists such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lucinda Williams, and Norah Jones. Michael has expressed a desire to work with Aleena in the future, and states that the two have been planning to collaborate for over a year, though nothing has happened yet. 4. Ambrose were from Cookeville Tennessee and recorded 'Bust Your Nose' in 1978. The album is a straight-forward collection of hard rock and boogie, some of it is quite amateurish in composition but there's plenty of variety between tracks, and some work great, like the fuzzy-riffed 'Breakout' is my pick of the bunch.
