There are two artists going by the name Amoure. The first one is a British choral/pop project and the other an indie rock group from France. 1) Amoure is a choral/pop project by Nick Magnus is a British keyboard player, songwriter, composer, arranger, engineer and producer. He is from the progressive school of keyboard players, mostly associated with instrumental and rock music. In 1978-1989 he played, extensively toured and recorded with ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, and his flutist brother John Hackett. He was a vital member of Steve Hackett band appearing, in total, on six Hackett studio albums released on Charisma Records and Lamborghini Records in 1979-1984. Magnus' contribution was especially considerable on the 1981 album Cured, which he co-produced, and on which he co-wrote with Hackett one song Funny Feeling, and also programmed the famous Linn drum machine. Nick Magnus studied piano from years 6-15, cathedral organ from 15-18, self-taught thereafter. He started his professional musical career in early 1976 with the symphonic rock band, The Enid. Then he spent two years with the progressive rock group Autumn. He has released four solo albums of his own compositions: Straight On Till Morning (1993), Inhaling Green (1999), Hexameron 2004, and the newest album released in March 2010 Children of Another God. Steve Hackett played the guitar on the two latest albums. Amoure (1999 Polymedia-Polystar). 2) When three greenhorn rockers try their hand at zouk, it can only surprise. However, Nicolas, Thibault and Julien have already gone around the question with their respective groups (Colt Silvers, Plus Guest, Electric Suicide Club) and this first attempt is not completely one. We recognize this devotion to pop, now sung in French with freshness and lightness. Formed during a roadtrip in the south in the spring of 2014, Amoure draws a multicolored pop full of contrasts. By turns mischievous then sensual, sunny then hazy. Like a paradox, that of singing the beach in Strasbourg. Probably because they are so far from it, they dream of these warm countries, these infinite azures, these amazed trances. Somewhere between the vivacity of Vampire Weekend and the rowboats of François & the Atlas Mountains. Read more on Last.fm.
