Asserting themselves as a recognized hardcore punk band, Antiseptic may well be the progenitor of the hardcore punk scene in Indonesia, they started it all way back in 1990 when hardcore punk scene was practically non-existent in Jakarta, their hometown. Berry, together with Acid started the band in 1990, originally named The Dickheads, they managed to fail to make the cut at selections for band gigs. The band changed their name to Antiseptic, and they played wherever they can, a very small but loyal crowd followed and listened to their music, they call themselves the Septic Crew. Staying true to their hardcore punk nature, their gigs seemed to have all the elements of chaos; fighting, rioting, and run-in with the police was becoming the recurring theme in their gigs. Not the typical band the well-to-do upper middle class parents would approve. But they stick to it and in 1997, after 7 years of creating and playing music they finally produced their first album, aptly named Finally. Fast forward a few years later (and a couple of jail sentences between the band members and some changes in the band line up), they have now produced two albums. Twenty years later and the band still play hardcore punk, still performs at gigs, with more crowd, less rioting, but just as loud.
