The Death Imprint
Formed in 2002, atooishinjuu (japanese for suicide immediately after the death of one's spouse or lover) debuted with the crushing 'Give In To You' EP, which was most notable for it's atypical tom heavy, tribal drumming, extremely emotional vocals, and clean, earthy production. atooishinjuu would spend the next 2 years recording their first full length, 'The Death Imprint'. Venturing beyond the guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and light electronics approach of 'Give In To You', atooishinjuu embellished their songs with atmospheric sample collages, hand drums, sitar, extreme vocal layering, and the use of personal recordings, all adding an increased density and sonic richness to the overwhelming emotional core of the album...'The Death Imprint' explores the emotions felt and the aftermath of the death of a lover. Personal experience from within the band informed this heartbreaking, incredibly deep album. during the writing and recording of 'The Death Imprint', a b-sides record, 'Closure Is Just A Word' was issued soon after.
