Cute Out (Pink Flame 3)
Aurist is a one-boi experimental music project from London, England. Aurist began in spring 2006 and has since procrastinated itself into many forms and genres, such as drone, hip-hop, noise, ambient, juke, musique concrete, etc. From 2008 to 2011 they put out a number of releases including the Technic'ly, This is Art. CD on Cantankerous Records and the Profonan netlabel EP on Glitch City, as well as contributing tracks to various compilations and such. In May 2011 their first album Not Here was released on Amoebic Industries records, four slabs of brooding, intense noise/drone over 35 minutes, somehow managing to be punishingly harsh and strangely delicate at the same time. The lead track Dekindling was released with a music video and garnered a small amount of radio play on stations like BBC Radio 6 and Rinse FM. In March 2013 their second album Cute Out (Pink Flame 3) was released, showing a marked shift in style into hip-hop and juke inspired beat music, but retaining a drone-like feel in a lot of it. The album also includes a screwed version, wherein most tracks are slowed down to 2/3rds speed and heavily processed with effects. Read more on Last.fm.
