Azami is a metalcore band from Koshigaya City, Japan. The band was formed in 2013 and held their first live performance in October of that year. The band lineup consists of vocalist Junpei Ishi (石井 純平), guitarist and backing vocalist Fuen Seki (関 普円), guitarist Tomonobu Nakagawa (中川 智伸), bassist Tomoki Kamishima (上島 智樹) and drummer Hiromu Kouno (河野 大夢). Azami released their first single titled 「色褪せたその絵は/その瞬間(とき)まで」 (Iroaseta sono e wa/Sono toki made) in June 2014. This single managed to sell out all 300 copies within a span of six months. Following this, they released their first mini album called Lilac in October 2015, and the record release event for this album was also sold out. Between October 2015 and January 2016, Azami embarked on the Lilac Release Tour, while also participating in release tours of other bands such as Crystal Lake, MEANING, Before My Life Fails, and RIDDLE. In August 2016, they had the opportunity to perform at SUMMER SONIC 2016, followed by an appearance at the Bloodaxe Festival 2016 in September. The band's music foundation lies in hardcore music, combined with distinctive melodies that reflect Japanese culture.
