Buen is the musical work of Clinton Crockett. Clint has been making various styles of electronic music for 15 years mostly in the soundtrack genre inspired by his time spent studying theatre at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. Early influences included Pink Floyd, The Residents and The Legendary Pink Dots. As a self taught keyboardist and producer, his psychedelic sounds have graced tracks by his 90's LPD influenced Substance P, as well as spin off bands Specimen 37 and The Super Heroes of Tomorrow. In recent years, his tastes have shifted more towards pop music featuring female vocalists, including Nelly Furtado and Fergie. His newer style shows influences from early 90s dance acts The Shamen, Massive Attack and The Orb. Buen's newest tracks feature LA based Fish Bait's avant-pop vocalist, Alis and a rare vocal appearance by Derek Lotek. As an independent artist, Buen is putting out his latest work as instrumentals, and is interested in collaborating with independent vocalists via cyberspace or in person in the DC area.
