Russia has launched some of the most prominent avant-club acts into international orbit in recent years, several of whom have found a home on the Symbols roster. CELES7E is the latest to join up and is set to instantly make his mark with From Ashes -- seven tracks of towering industrial noise, video game score dramatics and gorgeously contrasting elements. Those elements range from the familiar to the alien, the classical to the futurist, each imbued with an all-encompassing immersive spirit. With only one guest feature, fittingly provided by likeminded producer Eyne, who also designed the project's cover art, From Ashes provides a stark invitation into CELES7E's aesthetic vision, laid out in crisp, multi-layered brilliance. Viscous sub bass underlies the whole project while blasts of industrial noise mar pristine piano melodies and disembodied choir vocals. From Ashes is overwhelming by nature and CELES7E rewards close listens by including subtle nest eggs throughout, providing reason to delve ever deeper into the prismatic lens of tracks like Escalated and Tacent.
