New York's Cattle Press began in early-1990's, among ex-members of Nausea and Born Against, as the industrial band Sin. Following the band's recording of a split CD with Spine Wrench, the band disbanded. Nevertheless, 2/3rds of Sin were still inspired to create devastating music, and thus reformed as Cattle Press. 1993 would mark the band's first demo, but inconsistency among the band's line-up proved to be a detriment. In 1995, Devastating Soundworks (Disassociate) helped in the production of Cattle Press's Showered in the Love of the Abhorer EP, which eventually drew the attention of the hardcore/metal scene worldwide. The band would still continue to experience line-up shifts, but would eventually release a split with Agoraphobic Nosebleed on Bovine Records, as well as its full-length on Hydra Head Records, Hordes to Abolish the Divine (2000). Complex rhythms, discordant music, and harshness only begin to describe Cattle Press's sound. Read more on Last.fm.
