Cinnamonia is the musical project of Sandra Barclay (vocals, ex-Madrigal) and Thomas Köhler (instruments, ex-Operating Strategies) Cinnamonia's music has been described as: dark romantic, ambient, progressive, experimental, folky, art-pop, soothing, melancholic, dreamy. Cinnamonia was formed in 1999 in Hannover, Germany; the debut album The Scarlet Sea was released in autumn 2002. Since then, Cinnamonia have appeared on several compilation CDs, and have teamed up with Sal Pichireddu, poet and singer with origins from Sardinia (Italy), to form the project Desvelos. A first track of their common work was released on Full Cold Moon, an internet only commemorative tribute to Jhonn Balance from Coil.
