'ghost grinder' was concocted from many layers of earlier recordings: 'Hi Ho' by RDunlap 1995 (itself a many-layered tape collage of earlier material including a percussion session from RDunlap & Dan Bartlett, live sampling and overdub session by The Dunlaps utilizing an earlier tape collage by RD, and later additions of digital instruments by RD), a 1986 improvised duet from The Dunlaps (Frank-o: sax, RD: synth and live tape-looping and delay effects) and vocals and samples from a 1985 improvisation with Steve Peckman. dadala is a hybrid of improvisation and collage. RDunlap produces, edits, arranges and mixes/remixes the ensemble of contributors which currently and recently includes Paul Mimlitsch, Erocnet, Darius, brass-lines, Johann Meier (Jopy), Loopy C, Frank Dunlap, Michael Chocholak and Billy Shaw. Other past contributors include Phenotypo, rachMiel, runagate, the glad hand, Vedette (Neil Carlill and Manuel Stagars), The Dunlaps, Pilesar/Mandible, Thomas J (Men from San Diego), Benzaiten, Spagirus, Cathartech and Pureh .
