Darby is an unsigned Dallas, Texas based alternative rock and progressive rock band. The groups The Feds, Deftones, Fair to Midland, and Shaolin Death Squad are major influences as well as the more mainstream artist Tool. Darby has participated in music festivals such as Ozzfest and Taste of Chaos. In 2007, they released their first EP, The Clearing, which was produced by Alex Gerst and Blue October's platinum recording artist Matt Noveskey. Musicians Blake Trotter, Bryan Ziegler, Alex Fletcher, Tim Ziegler, and 'The Rip' make up the band. As of 2007, they all live in suburban McKinney, Texas. 2. Darby is also the name of a female hip-hop artist. 3. Darby is an Australian electronic producer by the name of Darcy Hollins. He has releases on Ninja Tune, Monstercat, bitbird, Nightmode, Aviencloud, Ophelia, Gud Vibrations, Deadbeats and artbyFORM, and has received support from Skrillex, Disclosure, Zedd, Four Tet, Madeon, CaptainSparklez, Will Smith and Illenium. Hollins has done official remixes for ODESZA, San Holo, IMANU, NGHTMRE, Big Gigantic and Dabin. He is also part of the indie pop collective Sneaker Kids, and produces for singers such as MICO. Born in 2000, Darby began producing in 2015 and released his debut EP Dusk To Dawn in 2019, followed by Wildfire EP in 2021 and Crush EP on bitbird in 2023. He has collabs with artists such as demotapes, Slippy, Tails, Moore Kismet, camoufly, Lizdek, Silent Child, Maazel, Blosso and borne. He has named Flume, Wavedash, salute and Sammy Virji as inspirations, and has often mentioned that his friends in the underground electronic music community are his biggest inspirations.
