Global Trance
Dave202 (real name: Davide Tropeano) is a swiss Trance DJ. He published his first own production in May 1998. It was the Latenight Compilation Vol. 1 of Oxa Club, where he has been a resident for the last couple years. And then in summer his career really started to take off. Dave202 was the main man at the Streetparade 2000. He mixed the official Streetparade Compilation Believe in Love. Dave produced the title song (the accompanying red-hot videoclip was a smash hit all summer long, by the way) which ended up being the official anthem of the parade. Right on time for the Streetparade 2001, Dave202 and Phil Green releasedthe summer hit At The End. This killer track made a huge impact and was played by almost every Trance DJ in Europe and was one of the mostpower-played tracks of the parade and the numerous after-parties. Dave202 and Phil Green landed another major hit with their remixes of DJ Noise's Sibel. But there was another reason to be happy. Dave202 and Phil Green got fantastic feedback from the Far East for their track At The End. Apparently, this title is the it-track with the Japanese trance scene and soon enough the Tokyo-based pop band ELT (short for: Every Little Thing) asked them to do a remix. ELT are huge in Japan, comparable in popularity to the likes of teen queen Britney Spears. So Dave202 and Phil Green hurriedly started working on their remix of Someday, Someplace, and their rendition turned out pretty damn good. Someday, Someplace climbed the charts at supersonic speed and was a massive club hit in the Far East. ELT sold more than a million copies of the CD that contained the remix. So it came as no big surprise that Dave202 was invited to represent Switzerland at the renowned mega rave Avex Trance 2002 in Tokyo. Dave202 accepted the invite and performed for 35,000 euphoric trance fans on the main floor of this impressive monster event together with world-wide top acts and DJs like Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, Johan Gielen and Hennes&Cold. Dave202 clearly made his mark in the Japanese scene and already enjoys cult status over there. Dave202: I am very honored. And the engaging DJ has been showered with requests by Japanese artists ever since. Dave202 has also been busy in the vinyl business. The vinyl release of Living on the Edge on Shogun Records is already featured on severalforeign compilations and on playlists of international DJs, such as the English Star DJ and radio host Judge Jules. Dave plans to spend more time in the studio. Right now he is working with Phil Green on remixes for Hijackers and DJ Noise’s project N3 on the Voice Noise label. Also, he will be participating at the two Swiss mega events of this summer: first, at the Open-Air-Rave Motion 2002, and then at Energy 2002, the biggest Streetparade After-Party. Another thing to look forward to: during this year's Streetparade Dave202 will be at the controls on Oxa’s lovemobile. Read more on Last.fm.
