Creuant Els Mons
From Ireland to India, through the whole mediterranean arch, musical instruments from many cultures meet in an explosive sound of contemporary arrangements without losing traditional essence. The band, wich was born in Barcelona more than 6 years ago, has grown to currently become one of the major actors with more potential and projection in the new folk's scene of their country. From the very beginning, the research of new sounds has lead them to experiment with different instruments such as the Uillean Pipe, Arabian Lute, Fiddle, Sitar, Cello, or Didgeridoo, among others. As a result, this unique sound supported by a modern basis, results into an open and very personal style they transmit convincingly in their shows. A strong and surprising mise-en-scene with complicity in stage and strong connection with audience has brought them with more than a hundred performances in the last years to stages nationwide, and recently over Europe in renowned festivals like Celtica 2007 in Italy or Zamek Festival in Poland. The band is at present inmersed in the creation of their second album, with production of prestigious french double-bass player Johan Jaquemoud, after the warm reception of their first Album Creuant els mons -Crossing the worlds- (2007). The album will come to light Spring 2009 Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
