Storm of the Light's Bane
There are multiple bands known by the name Dissection, originating from various countries and representing different styles within the metal genre: 1. Dissection was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in 1989 in Strömstad by guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Jon Nödtveidt and bassist Peter Palmdahl. The band released two influential albums, The Somberlain (1993) and Storm of the Light's Bane (1995), before disbanding in 1997 following Nödtveidt's imprisonment for complicity in a murder. After his release, Nödtveidt reformed Dissection in 2004 with new members who shared his dedication to the band's Satanic philosophy. They released a third album, Reinkaos, in 2006 and disbanded shortly afterward. In August 2006, Nödtveidt died by suicide. Dissection is widely regarded as a significant influence on the development of Swedish black and death metal, especially through their early albums, which are sometimes associated with the Gothenburg scene. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissection_(band) 2. Dissection was a Canadian thrash metal band from Quebec City, Quebec, originally formed in 1986 under the name Genocide. They released two demos, Chain Saw Slaughter and Black List, before adopting the Dissection name in 1987. Their debut album, Final Genocide, was released in 1988 via Fringe Product. A cassette titled Garden of Stone followed in 1991 before the band disbanded. Some members had previously been part of the heavy metal band Outbreak, and certain riffs were reused in Dissection’s music. 3. Dissection was a death/thrash metal band from Croatia. The band later changed its name to Aeon and disbanded in 1996. 4. Dissection was a death metal band from Lithuania that disbanded in 1993. A compilation album titled Dissected Tapes was released posthumously in 2006. 5. Dissection was a black metal band from Germany. After releasing two demo tapes, the band changed its name to Tsatthoggua, under which it released several full-length albums. 6. Dissection was a death/grind band from Poland, active only briefly in 1990 before disbanding a year later. 7. Dissection is a thrash metal band from the Czech Republic, formed in 1985. Unlike many others with the same name, this band remains active. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
