Project 5 - Absolute: Function - EP
Enzugiri was formed in Boise, Idaho by vocalist/guitartist Chris Cavoretto and drummer Brent Kelley in 2007. They had one thing in mind, create fast old school hardcore. The first EP, Project 3- Background: Black, was recorded shortly thereafter and released in December 2007 on 1332 Records. Jake Grothaus was brought in on bass just in time to add backing vocals to the EP as was Luke Grothaus to finalize the line-up on guitar. P3BB showed the band's ferociousness with blistering songs taking aim at whiners, religion, rapists and other bands and ends on a strange note with the long, brooding love song, 2.27. After writing a handful of songs, the band recorded their second EP, Lamborghini. 1332 Records also released this album in 2008. With Lamborghini the subject matter is more of the same with shots at whiners and child molesters, yet the hooks have caught on a little more with listeners and showed the bands growth while not taking a back seat to their hardcore, punk and thrash-metal approach to song writing. An all-Johnny Cash tribute that was recorded in 2008 was remixed and put on various sites as a free download EP just before their next EP was released. The tribute was hardcore punk versions of Cash's Folsom Prison Blues as well as Sam Hall which is a standard covered by Cash on his American IV album. In October, 2009, Enzugiri released the Project 5 - Absolute: Function EP. The music is along the same lines as Lamborghini as it's more d-beat influenced hardcore with some catchy hooks. However, upon the download-only release of the EP, the band has gone onto an indefinite hiatus. Read more on Last.fm.
