FIST is officially formed in January 2006 by the initiative of Petar Panevski, Boris Culev and Gorjan Pete. The basic idea came from necessity for mutually collaboration between more hip hop artists (who were working on separate projects at that time) with one goal, to make a impressionable sound which will create a picture from the place where this members originate. This group is finally formed of the members: Sashe Panevski-Rhyman, Petar Panevski-Pero Pan Hero, Nikola Arsovski-L Nino, Boris Chulev-Chooley, Gorjan Pete-Jan, Goran Stojchevski-str8up. Their music is influenced by the boom bap, old school and funky rap, with unusual themes from the educative lyrics by krs one, the funky rhymes of lord finesse and many other artists. With the help from the audience who accepted this mixture of this “old-new” style finally come out their first product by the name ”FIST EP”, which includes 9 songs. This EP’s printed on 200 free copies and it’s the main cause for what this band creates now and it’s the best illustration of what actually FIST is. The revolutionary moment for the band was the appearance of the “loser fest” in 2006. For the inevitable need for rock sounds in their music the band is extended with the members: Aleksandar Savovski-Krisho (bass guitar), Zoran Velkovski-Zuro (solo guitar), Aleksandar Atanasov (rhythm guitar) and Mihail Naumov-Miksa (drums). Authors on the music are Aleksandar Savovski (who has big influence in the Macedonian underground music as a member in many bands like “Plaf Poiler”, “Loshi Deca” and now he’s active member in the reggae group “Canon”) and Zoran Velkovski (the unique master and student in the jazz academy. He took part in the projects of the bands “Infernal”, “Unknown Artist”, “No Dub” and today is active member in “Canon”). FIST took part in many festivals in Skopje and charity events and as most important is the performing on the “loser fest” where they win the first place and sign contract with the famous Macedonian record label “Lithium Records”.
