In 1979, Ahmed Nyei aka Genda, was born in Cairo, Egypt from Liberian born parents. They subsequently moved to Bonn in 1990. Bonn still remains Genda’s residing country despite the departure of his parents to their country of origin. It was at the tender age of 14 whereby his passion for music started to materialise. Such a passion was finally transferred into the formation of a group with his brother called Crew Mo’Shadzz. Despite Mo having written most of the songs, it could not be denied the pivotal role that Genda played in the Crew. With time, he eventually left his brother’s side to pursue his own vision and individual love for Hip Hop. With the hope to pursue his musical talent even further, Genda was slowly but surely, becoming a recognised name. He was soon to become one of the founding members of the legendary Crew Franklinavenue from Bonn ( with, amongst others, JayJay, Diaspora, P. Suave and DBS). The undeniable presence of talent and creativity amongst the group members could not go unnoticed. However, with the accomplishment of various performances, the group soon saw its end. Genda, along with P. Suave (formally a part of Diaspora), worked together and later released two mixed tapes. In 2004, Genda met up with Dako (formally a part of Diaspora), who had recently signed a contract with the record label called Code Rouge. It was only after Dako had heard the demo tape and had a discussion on its regards with Lukeni (CEO), was when Genda was finally taken in as the newest member of the family. Thereafter, he was able to kick start his solo career with his first LP called “Genda’s Landing”, which is both powerfully inclined as an introspective as well as retrospective record. Whilst Genda is the one to openly speak of his feelings lyrically, his producer DIMA transpires that very feeling onto every track that is made. Genda’s Landing presents to you simultaneously, two upcoming artists - Genda as well as Dima - who are both equally dedicated to their present project. Their presence should not go unnoticed for their unique vision will soon prove to be the epitome of their success. www.gendamusic.com | allucanbeat.com Read more on Last.fm.
