Thomas Philip Lieftinck, known professionally as Glimlip, is a Dutch beatmaker born in Rotterdam, now residing in Amsterdam. Although he began his musical journey as a drummer and guitarist, he has since evolved into a prominent figure in the world of beatmaking, crafting soulful jazz-influenced beats. Inspired by iconic producers such as J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Madlib, and Kiefer, Glimlip has developed a distinctive musical style characterized by smooth jazz elements and ambient textures. In collaboration with fellow producer Dontcry, Glimlip released the EP Jiro Dreams on February 24, 2020. This collaborative effort showcases their prowess in the lofi and chillhop genres. Jiro Dreams seamlessly blends flowing guitar and piano melodies with raw ambient textures. Continuing his collaborative endeavors, Glimlip joined forces with Louk to produce the EP Can We Talk, which was released on April 16, 2021. This project features captivating flute melodies by Louk, harmoniously combined with punchy rhythms and ethereal pianos. On May 21, 2021, Glimlip released his debut album Undertones, a collaborative effort with Yasper and several other producers. This album comprises 20 tracks that offer a rich tapestry of jazzy harmonies, catchy riffs, and bold Hip-Hop rhythms, showcasing Glimlip's versatility and musical depth. The artist's journey continued with the release of the album Twelve Chapters on September 2, 2022, created in collaboration with Søren Søstrom and Soul Food Horns.
