Groznyj – There's a world outside your window The rock band Groznyj consist of six members from different musical roots with the same steady drive and genuine songwriting tradition similar J. Lennon, N. Young and U2. The members are from the west coast of Sweden apart of guitar player Anders Höglind from Stockholm. Groznyj emerged out of the frustration that came from backing up various artists in Sweden as professional musicians. At the close of last century the members felt ready for something new. From the early beginning the main course was the strong confident belief in composing strong tunes that matters. They had a creative start and had their first album carved in a master that ended with a hard disc crash and the band took a timeout for 4 years. Licking their wounds, and still networking as musicians they felt the consistent persistent musical understanding and 2004 the renaissance of the band Groznyj was a fact. They decided to give the project a second chance now more like a hobby act. And the composing pulse was still there and resulted in their first recorded album “Welcome to Groznyj - Have a nice day” released in November 2006. The title was an ambivalent meeting between old east/west and it gave the group a frame to work within and a vision to aim at. The cornerstones in the Groznyj attitude are rebellious, antithesis and melancholy. The rebellious takes sides for the week, the banished and for the society’s outsiders sculpturing this standpoint in cheeky music, that’s Groznyj! The words are full of contradictions, the opposite, the antithesis formulated say “Welcome to Groznyj – Have A Nice Day!” The music has an undertone of melancholy that lives in, lives with and lives behind the tone delivered in every ounce. In Groznyj’s productions live a rebel, formulated in an antithesis and breathing melancholy.
