Germany’s HØEK are about as far from the desert as you can get. But in sound they are smack dab in the middle of it. (...) HØEK (a slash thru the o) have a very desert-influenced sound, with elements of psychedelia, 60’s and 70’s rock with a bit of metal thrown in for good measure. Noticeable influences on sound are Black Sabbath, Nebula and Gas Giant. They also feature a Blues for the Red Sun and Sky Valley - period Kyuss type wall of sound. (review from Hellride Music). HØEK’s ingredients are as easy as efficient: guitar, bass, drums and vocals whirling up dust, which is blown by the wind into fields of Stoner Rock, Desert Rock, Heavy Psychic Rock and Doom.
