Brain Crash
Kay Hardy Lippert, born on September 10, 1974, in Dresden, is a German DJ and music producer known for his contributions to the electronic music scene. In the 1980s, he began experimenting with music using an Atari 800 and later an Amiga 500, creating tracks for demogroups and game developers. In 1991 and 1992, he started performing live at Dresden’s first techno club, The Fabrik, where he became a resident DJ under the name Hardsequencer. In 1992, Lippert sent a demo tape to the Berlin-based label Low Spirit. By spring 1993, he became the first artist from the former East Germany to release DJ records produced with an Amiga. His early releases, including Noise is the Message, Braincrash, The Dancing Nations, and Ear to Brain, became well-known within the rave scene. Following his performance at Mayday 1994, Lippert played at various events across Australia, Asia, and the United States. He also worked on remixes for artists such as Yello, Westbam, Moby, Marusha, Afrika Bambaataa, Jan Delay, and H-Blockx. In 1995, he became a resident DJ at the Berlin club E-Werk. In 1996 and 1997, he moved from Dresden to Berlin and changed his stage name to HardyHard, shifting his focus from rave music to other styles. His final release as Hardsequencer, The Healer, was followed by his first record as HardyHard, Metal Hammer, on the Loud&Slow label. Another release, Here Comes That Sound, became a club hit. One of his most recognized tracks, The Silversurfer, released in 1998, gained popularity as an anthem at the Love Parade, where he also performed regularly. Read more on Last.fm.
