The roots of HAZELAND go back almost a decade when bassist/singer/songwriter Mike Hayes teamed up with some of Dallas, TX. best musicians to create an eclectic, progressive, multi-genre, fresh blend of heavy groove rock. After six years of playing shows throughout the region and releasing two studio albums the band decided to take an indefinite hiatus to persue other musical endeavours. Hayes went on to fill bass positions for WUMB, CHALKLIGN, and STRENGTH AS ONE. In April of 2011 Hayes re-united with former bandmates Guitarist-Robert Ozz Veliz, (AUDIOI), and Drummer-John Franco (SWEET TEXAS CRUDE) to reincarnate HAZELAND into a new era. In September of 2012 dynamic frontman Brad Amos was added to the multi-vocalist line-up to bring a depth to the music that no one has seen to date. If we stay true to ourselves and continue writing from the heart things will continue falling into place, this art is our passion states Hayes. It's been a long journey and HAZELAND is back in full force with a strong work ethic like no other. The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary says Franco. Music is not what is in your head, but it is what you feel in your heart. You've got to love what you do explains Veliz. With nearly a century of collective musical experience in the current HAZELAND line-up this power house quartet has a positive outlook on the future and will continue creating it's unique brand of music for years to come.
