HYPOGEO is Nicola Grigatti’s dark progressive project,already well known as COMA SECTOR, combo Darkpsy founded in 2004 together with his close friend Luca Folli (aka Anx-Void Controller). Coma Sector releases appear on the best known psychedelic trance labels, such as Parvati rec., FreeRadical rec., Goanmantra rec. At the same time Nicola starts another successful collaboration with another italian producer and friend, DUST, releasing 4 tracks as COMADUST. After some years of fast and furious bpm Nicola feels he needs to wind down and begins creating tracks ranged between 130-140 bpm that immediately get the psychedelic, deep industrial make-up already developed with ComaSector, but now more mental and hypnotic. Here the search for sound clearly drives back to Nicola’s roots, mainly draining from EBM/Industrial and his favourites darkwave bands (among the others:Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division, Bauhaus etc.). It’s March 2010 when Hypogeo releases a digital EP – Wars Worms and Whores - under the wing of the well known autralian label Zenon rec., spreading his renewed sound in the skies of darkprogressive world. rapidly other releases for GlitchyTonic rec and Uroboros rec follow this EP and before 2010 ends more are going to come out for Zenon rec. and Soundcraft rec.
