VIRTUAL REALITY
Hailing from the Bay Area of California, singer/songwriter Joshua Ieuan Williams had his first song reach the Soundcloud charts back in 2014 at the young age of 15. Three years later, on his 18th birthday, he released his mixtape Pink Suburbia with 9 original tracks with heavy inspiration by artists Blackbear and Troye Sivan. Ieuan later explained the inspiration behind naming his first mixtape based off of Troye Sivan’s Blue Neighbourhood after watching an interview where Nicki Minaj described writing the album The Pinkprint after being inspired by fellow rapper Jay-Z with his hit album The Blueprint. His second mixtape Saint California, which was the “Blue Era,” made it to the top 20 R&B charts on iTunes and stayed for 2 weeks after its release, and brought in a more mature and artistic perspective to his music. Ieuan then confirmed that moving to Los Angeles in the summer of 2017 after graduating high school led to a drought in his creative process, but he has moved back to the Bay Area and has begun his “Purple Era,” with single Honey Lavender. On February 14th, 2018, Ieuan released Please Stop Talking to promote his third project titled Over The Garden Wall in reference to the Cartoon Network animated series, was released on his 20th birthday.
