Matthew Freeman a.k.a. JLRthatruth is an hip hop artist, born in Ann Arbor, Mi, but claims Inkster, Michigan because he says thats where all of his childhood memories reside. JLR looks up to artists such as, Joe Budden, 2pac, Crooked I, Papoose, Nas, & C-Murder. He starting writing rhymes around the age of 12 but not on a consistent basis. He didnt become serious until after he ran into some trouble at age 17, he caught a criminal sexual conduct charge and got convicted of 4th degree CSC, For having consented sex with his then girlfriend who at the time was 15. Shortly afterwards he violated his probation for stealing and spent 90 days in jail. Due to the jail sentence, he got kicked out of school because the school was unaware of his where abouts. Its counted as 90 unexcused absences. So JLR decided to drop out of school and attempt to obtain a GED. He often tried, but fell short due to low math scores, He finally said forget it, and decided to focus on his music. He decided there was nothing in school that he felt passionate about or anything that he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
