Build My Gallows High
Jairus was an indie/post-hardcore band from Kent, UK. Formed in October 2001 by guitarist Dan Lucas and vocalist Adam Bray. Between October 2001 and December 2002 Jairus toured throughout the UK, gaining a large fanbase in a very short period of time, and were consequently signed to UK hardcore label Skipworth Records, who released their debut album The Need To Change The Mapmaker in 2004. Since, Jairus have toured throughout the UK, Europe and Japan and have released a self-titled EP and a split SINGLE with Japanese band The Stiff. The band was signed to Big Scary Monsters Recording Company (UK) and Alliance Trax (Japan). On October 11th, 2007 the band's label released a statement saying that they had decided to part ways. The reason given was that vocalist Adam Bray has decided to depart and concentrate on his studies, whilst the rest of the band felt it wouldn’t be right to continue without him. As of January 2009, Jairus have reformed, releasing the Build My Gallows High on their own account. A new EP, Streams over Sad Parades is being released on 18/19 may (by Holy Ghost Records in the UK, Frontal Noize Records for the rest of Europe). The band announced that they were to split up in October 2012 Hey guys. It is with great sadness that we announce the end of Jairus, due to a number of reasons. But mostly, we feel that the band has run its course after 11 years. Mike is playing bass for The Black Shapes, and Adam/Symon/Dan have a new heavy blues band called The Black Waterside. Thanks for all of the great times, we'll be tying up loose ends over the next couple of weeks. Dan Lucas. Facebook Read more on Last.fm.
