Junkstar's latest single KICKING K (Genepool/Universal) released in September 2011 charted at #2 in Amazon's New Releases, fighting off the likes of Paul Weller, Evanescence and The Vaccines. The band toured Italy in late 2011, and are currently touring Hungary and Germany, playing to 10,000 people a night with Omega. They have recently secured endorsements from ROLAND, ROTOSOUND, PAISTE and ORANGE AMPS. Here's the links to the Junkstar ROTOSOUND & PAISTE artist pages: www.rotosound.com/junkstar.php www.paiste.com/e/endorser_det.php?page=setup&endorserid=5533 Junkstar will be touring the USA, Hungary, Germany, Norway and the UK in 2012 - playing at some prestigious festivals along the way. The band have been championed on BBC6music, BBCradio5live, Kerrang! radio, XFM, Q and The Rolling Stone - as well as national stations from around the globe. They have already featured on the covers of Lemezborze Magazine and Rebelicious Magazine in 2012, and the press seem to be backing the band to break through this year. SINGLE PRESS BLURBS: ‘Cool and using some Beach Boys-esque harmonies to full effect!’ Richard Archer (Hard-Fi) ‘Kicking K kept me bouncing along from beginning to end, what an excellent hit!’ Leslie J. Bialik (Rolling Stone) ‘The London five-piece have released an infectious track in an attempt to get the nation singing along to their brilliant choruses.’ Daisy Boorman (DIY Magazine) ‘If The Killers had one more cappuccino in the morning they may well write a barnstormer like this.’ Ed Spencer – (ARTROCKER) The third track on the single was written for BBC 2 Comedy Show IDEAL. JUNKSTAR'S debut single MAGAZINE was released to a native London buzz in 2010 and the band toured the U.S.A. and Europe at break-neck pace on the back of it. The band notched up some great support shows with bands including Supergrass, White Rose Movement, Kate Nash, The Killers, Athlete, The Drums, Fight Like Apes and King Adora. Crowd favourite BLUEBOTTLES got a white label release and was backed by the BBC & KERRANG! - it also featured bizarrely on the BBC's Newsnight! Played by KISSY SELLOUT and PETE TONG, the release saw the band at the forefront of the electro fidget genre in the UK. Singer JC also has a regular slot on BBC RADIO 5 LIVE as a guest music reviewer. Read more on Last.fm.
