KARNATRIIX’s music has elements of jazz, blues, rock, trance, funk, and classical sounding in perfect harmony with the Carnatic kritis of Saint Thyagaraja. It is not a traditional melody trapped in a melting pot of sampled copy-and-paste grooves topped by more samples of ambient keyboard and bass textures. The music, with a contemporary feel, has been woven carefully around the traditional melody, entailing months of study and a clear and very deep understanding of the different styles and rhythms used in the compositions. The concept album has songs that are based on a trip from dawn to dusk, a dialogue between man and nature and a link between the known and the unknown. The album also contains groovy yet brilliantly melodic compositions by Saint Thyagaraja. The band believes in playing classical music with a difference, but classical music nevertheless.Belief in our freedom to express thoughts by doing what we do best. To allow music.
