Serbian neofolk/neoclassical violinist Ana Katić. --- 1) Katana is a Swedish heavy metal band from Gothenburg, established in 2005. The five members are Johan Bernspång (voc), Patrik Essén (guitar), Susanna Salminen (bass), Tobias Karlsson (guitar) and Anders Person (drums). The name of the band comes from the Japanese sword named Katana due to the Japanese influences in the band's music. They were signed with Listenable Records / Sony Music and managed by Gain / Magnus Lundbäck. The group has been known as a member of the NWOSHM (New Wave of Swedish Heavy Metal) which is similar to the previous NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). --- 2) A Ukrainian metal band. --- 3) An R&B / soul singer. --- 4) Dutch trance artist Randy Joubert was born in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles on the 14th of March 1965. Katana is the founder of Jinx Records and also the first artist to release records on this label with tracks like Sexual Intimidation and Erotmania. After producing singles as Katana and afterwards producing under the names DJ Randy and Antic, he devoted all his time to Dutch record company BPM Dance (a.k.a. webshop Only-DJ's.com). In 2001 Katana decided to start producing again, releasing tracks like Fancy Fair and Gemini. --- 5) Romanian hip-hop band founded on 07.04.2004 by Menthoru and No Mo. Only 2 months after training (08.06.2004) they opened second stage of the first Battle Off Dome tour organized by Hades Records along with Sardonix and Dezea, the MC-producer that was to join two months later. --- 6) Brazilian heavy metal band Katana formed 2003 in Novo Hamburgo featuring Sandro Seixas on vocals, Davi Piangers on guitar, André Carvalho on bass, Elias Frenzel on drums, and Thiago Marques on keyboards. In 2005 they released the Eyes In The Dark EP. --- 7) Classically trained Serbian violinist Ana Katić founded Katana as a neofolk / neoclassical / world music solo project. Sounds from nature (birds chirping, flowing river, wind, rain), traditional vocal techniques and tribal drumming are enriched by the influence of Ana's 15 years of classical music education.
