Mick Kenney (born 18 January 1980) is a British musician and record producer. Initially most known as the founding member of the extreme metal act Anaal Nathrakh, he began producing phonk music in 2020.“Phonk sounded similar to what I was already doing,” he says. “It was super dark, with almost a horror vibe, but in a hip-hop way.” Kordhell genre and composition style is a somewhat mix of phonk, Memphis rap, hip-hop & rock. He got signed to Black 17 Media in October 2020 when he had 5000 streams, which has since risen to 480 million on his top hit Murder In My Mind. The song has charted in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Kordhell will be the first phonk artist to embark on an official, national U.S. tour, according to a press release shared with EDM.com. The pioneering producer has flown the flag of phonk since as early as January 2022, when he released his breakout hit, Murder In My Mind. Kordhell's Murder in the USA tour will hit a bevy of major cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. With its distorted sound design, edgy aesthetic and vintage hip-hop influences, the song effectively lit the fuse of a full-blown movement on TikTok, wherein it has soundtracked over a million videos. Due in part to its volcanic success on social media, Kordhell went on to amass a staggering 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify, making him one of the platform's top 500 artists in the world. He relocated to Orange County, California, in 2007. There, he founded the clothing label Misanthropy Clothing in 2013. In 2020 he formed the black metal band Make Them Die Slowly together with fellow musician Duncan Wilkins. They both operate under stage names. Mick Kenney as Officer R.
