Krachfabrik is the musical project of Last.fm-user InsaneGenius who made music as Krachfabrik until 2012 Songs are released as free downloads periodically via Last.fm. In addition the full albums can be downloaded from Krachfabriks wordpress page and, more recently, Bandcamp and Jamendo: The first track, Heavy Metal Gunfight, was written in 2008 with no intention of releasing it. After writing four, rather bad, songs just for fun InsaneGenius decided to release them just for the heck of it. After initially considering the names Kakophonie and Krachwerk he settled for Krachfabrik (Noise Factory), which essentially has the same meaning as Krachwerk, but sounds less like Kraftwerk. InsaneGenius continued making songs and as soon as twelve songs had amassed he decided this would be the end of the first album. It was called Look, mom! I made music! and, like the following two releases recorded out of InsaneGenius' computer speakers with the microphone of a headset. The fourth album did away with that for the last four songs due to the complaining of neighbours. Over time Krachfabriks music evolved from something that can be described as midi using metal instruments to something that sounds less like metal.
