Lawson/Dodds/Wood are an improvisation-based trio from London, who utilise a lot of 'real time looping and processing' in the context of their concerts. They are based in London, UK. Steve Lawson (bass + loops) Roy Dodds (drums + percussion) and Patrick Wood (keys + guitar) first came together as part of the Recycle Collective in 2007, an improvised music night that Lawson curates in London. This led to them recording together, the basis of the album being two days of all-improvised music that they then edited and overdubbed onto, keeping the shape and vibe of the initial improvised pieces, but tidying them up and adding two additional musicians; Mark Lockheart (saxophone + bass clarinet) and Gwyn Jay Allen (voice).
