LYGIAILYJA - a well known Lithuanian group with an experimental approach to the guitar/bass/drums formula.LYGIAILYJA ( could be translated as It's constantly or smooth raining or smth similar) is alternative band. Alternative in the most common sense of this word. This Lithuanian independent/post modern rock outfit was formed in 1991 in the industrial town of Siauliai,soon named as the LITHUANIAN MANCHESTER .The band got immediate career boost by winning the local,ironically named Worst Bands Festival.Despite their user-unfriendly name,LYGIAILYJA have since appeared on a German compilation The Beauty and the Beast and in other Lithuania's best alternative rock collections,got an award in the local video clip contest.Their first proper album Still Alive was released in 1994 by Bomba records and presented in Estonia's biggest and well known music festival- ROCK SUMMER.Without any doubt LYGIAILYJA left a deep mark in the ground of alternative music,was and still remains as one of the most interesting bands in Lithuania.
