Soundscapes And Coincidences
GLW/DRK wrote: M185 - SOUNDSCAPES AND COINCIDENCES - LP - THREETHIRTY RECORDINGS - Six instrumental songs performed by two people on twelve inches of vinyl. The naked facts doesn´t sound too exciting, but this record is a ceeper. It´s a textbook example of DIY that isn´t even necesarily linked to punk rock. These songs are like good wine. They have edges and hooks that only show their true beauty after the third or fourth time you listen to them, just give them time to develope and room to breath. Rock music in general is all about the song. Good songs work everytime and everywhere, and these songs would work just as well in a squat as they would at some high brow art show. I can´t recommend this highly enough. Oh, and the artwork deserves credit, too: nothing short of fantastic! Perfect layout, stellar photography, professional choice of fonts and colors, and amazingly thick glossy cardstock. This is too good to be true. Most professional design agencies would be exploiting with pride if they`d come up with something like this - plus, it doesn´t look too slick or steril. If we had a rating system, i´d give this seven out of five stars. (Thomas Reitmayer) Read more on Last.fm.
