"Do Not Touch" was released as the lead single of MISAMO's debut extended play Masterpiece. The song was pre-released for streaming and digital download on July 14, 2023. The track is an R&B song that highlights the charm, color and maturity of the three members. Lyrically, it discusses the importance of consent in relationships, and contains the message that everyone is a noble being worthy of respect. MISAMO (Katakana: ミサモ) is a sub-unit trio of South Korean girl group TWICE (Hangul: 트와이스; Katakana: トゥワイス) composed of the group’s Japanese members MINA (ミナ), SANA (サナ) and MOMO (モモ). They debuted on July 26, 2023 with the track Do not touch from their debut extended play, Masterpiece. In 2012, SANA and MOMO were originally planned to debut in a four-member girl group in Japan; however, JYP suspended the plan due to the deterioration of the Korean-Japanese relationship following the Liancourt Rocks dispute. In 2015, the members participated in Mnet's SIXTEEN, a competition survival show to decide TWICE's lineup. In February 2023, JYP announced that MISAMO would debut with an extended play of seven tracks, including Bouquet, originally released for TV Asahi's Liaison: Children's Heart Clinic, on July 26. Ahead of the EP's release, the song and music video for Marshmallow was released on June 15.The group held their debut showcase titled MISAMO Japan Showcase 2023 over five days in Osaka and Yokohama, beginning on July 22.The five shows sold 40,000 tickets from more than 600,000 ticket applications.
