MAHAMBORO is a multifaceted composer, musician, and sound artist based in Indonesia. With a Master’s degree in composition from the Indonesian Institute of Art, Surakarta, Mahamboro specializes in experimental music that blends saxophone and clarinet with electronic elements. His work often explores the intersections between acoustic and synthetic sounds, creating immersive and ethereal soundscapes. Mahamboro's music is a deep exploration of the gray areas between different sonic worlds, drawing inspiration from genres like dark ambient, industrial, and electronic dance music. His compositions are marked by a heavy use of processed sounds from both traditional instruments and found objects, collected from his environment. These elements are transformed into contemporary electronic textures that challenge conventional norms. In addition to his work under the name Mahamboro, he also performs as X0-101, a moniker dedicated to noise and hard and raw music, often used in the context of performance art projects like the Proto Animalia Project. As ROBODTZ, Mahamboro takes on the role of a DJ, where he energizes audiences with his eclectic mixes that fuse electronic, industrial, and experimental sounds. Beyond his personal artistic pursuits, Mahamboro is a key figure in the electronic and experimental music community. He is the co-founder of EARFLUX RECORDS, a label dedicated to supporting new talents in electronic music, and manages BRRRZ STUDIO, a digital platform and archive for groundbreaking electronic works. He also frequently curates musicians and organizes events such as CABOTT and STROOM for the electronic experimental noise music scene, as well as KOMBO Lab., an improv laboratory that fosters creative musical exploration through musicians from different backgrounds. https://linktr.ee/Mahamboro Read more on Last.fm.
