The title of the track refers to High John the Conqueror, a folklore tale about an African prince who was enslaved in America. Mavi (born [yearborn]October 7th, 1999[/yearborn]) is a rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina who remained fairly unknown until October 18th, 2019 with the drop of his album, let the sun talk.
